The site is great! I found it by accident while surfing the net. My home is in Ohio, but my summer home is at Parry Sound. It is always good to get back to the cottage. Bancroft is probably our favorite area to visit. We always try to make it to the "gemboree". Thanks again for your site.

Its terrific  lots of good info.  I stayed focused on the minecam!  I think I saw a real geoIogist down there. I plan to visit ontario for some camping @ Killbear this summer and wish to pick at rocks in the neighborhood. your safety advise is well taking -thanks Your site will help

This is one of the most informative sites I have seen in a long time. Keep up the good work.

I'm a geologist living in Oakville and my brother sent me the email address of your site. It's fantastic.

Your site is wonderful and easy to use. Thank you for putting it together.

I love ontariominerals.com. It helps me in my academic research and my personal research of the Bancroft area. I collect as often as I can in Bancroft. I even did some prospecting of some deposits over winter break 2001-2002. Ontariominerals.com is a great compilation of many useful sources, most of which are out of print and hard to find. With the web becoming more diverse and everything, sites like yours and mindat.org are becoming a collectors bible! Like I said, keep up the good work! I realize the process of updating mineral localities to the fullest will take years. But don't give up!

Very cool site. Last year we were in Bancroft at the Macdonald mine and at the York River sites.
Will be going back again this year. I will be doing some more reading of what you have put together here, and will recommend this site to my friends. Have a good summer.

Great site. I expect to get up to the Bancroft area next week or the next if the weather cooperates for some collecting at the Beryl Pit and Bear Lake for sure. These old bones don't manage too well with the cold wet weather anymore so I'm keeping an eye out to the 5 day forcasts for Bancroft. I'm going to try and collect some Corundum also. My wife gets nervous when I climb up the hills at the York River Skarn so I'll skip that area this time. The weather here in Pa. can be 80 one day and 30 the next as I'm sure the Bancroft area weather is fluctuating also.

It's great to see a website dedicated to Ontario minerals. There's a lot of great sites in the province to explore. More information the better. I will be visiting the site often.

Very interesting information. I will describe your website in one of the coming issues of Geonieuws. You would be surprised by the number of European colleagues rockhounders who visit Ontario. Your site is very welcome for those who want to plan a mineralogical vacation in your region.

- awesome! keep up the great work.

04/09/01, Karen Brittan, Woodstock, Ontario

Hey Tim.  What a great job you've done. Sometimes we rockhounds need to be reminded that Ontario is a paradise for lapidary material.  Too often we try to collect our specimens from outside our own back yards!  Thanks again.

Quite an undertaking. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Particularly interested in elemental discovery attributed to Dave Joyce. For my part, would like minerals that have been still collectable recently to be highlighted and the location noted as still active for those who might want to try their luck. Or conversely noted that nobody has been able to find anything at that site since first found in 1909 etc. so we know that it is not available anymore [ie Sperrylite- where Inco came in and scooped up the entire area and milled it to nothing] Most of all am glad to see that someone is doing something important like this to preserve and gather together disparate mineral data. Thanks.

Congratulations on the Ontario Minerals website. It's obviously a labor of love, and one that we all benefit from. I'm sure it will be widely
appreciated.

Had a quick tour of the Ontario minerals site using the link you posted on Rockhounds.  Great stuff, will be of aid when I return home for the collecting season.

Excellent  job keep up the good work.

02/13/01, Dave Joyce, Newmarket, Ontario

I had a quick look at the website. Awsome! You've even got ferrisymplesite. Most don't know about that.

02/18/01, Dirk Schmid, Toronto / Winnipeg

Congratulations on your new website. Your website is a valuable contribution. I look forward to future updates and photos of mineral specimens and localities on your site.

02/13/01, Chris Auer, Neunkirchen, Austria

Glad that I'm the first one who can congratulate you on your phantastic new website. Boy, what a job! It's up to people like you to show the highlights of mineralogy!
