Zircon, Allanite, Beryl Pit, 2.5 km N of Quadeville, Lyndoch Twp., Ontario

A 13mm tall crystal, unusually large for the locality in my experience

Tim Jokela collection and photograph

Zircon, 0.5 mm tall, with a bit of spangly hematite and the usual white bladed albite.

A somewhat weird habit, but not uncommon, off-white sprays of highly elongated tiny xls, usually embedded in matrix, extremely crackly and fragile, the best are complete freestanding bowties to a few mm.

Photomicrograph courtesy of Bill Lechner, specimen in the Mike Skebo collection
